ACT & SAT Testing Information and Testing Resources

The ACT is a national college admissions assessment that contains tests in English, Mathematics, Reading, Science, and an optional Writing test. All four-year colleges and universities in the U.S. accept ACT scores. ACT scores are often used for admissions purposes and scholarship determinations. It is highly recommended that juniors and seniors planning on continuing their education after earning a high school diploma take the ACT multiple times to achieve their highest score. Sophomore students may also take the ACT. View the official ACT website.

Similarly, the SAT is used by colleges and universities for admission determinations and is accepted by all colleges and universities. It contains sections in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. Specific subject tests are also available. The SAT was recently "updated" with a new format in March 2016. View the official SAT website.

Both ACT and SAT tests are offered at specific locations on specific dates throughout each school year. Download the 2017-18 ACT and SAT (.pdf)* test dates at Barrow High School and test registration information.
